Ruby Connection- a women’s virtual group
Bleeding Disorders Alliance Illinois has partnered with Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan (HFM) to bring the Ruby Connection program to Illinois. Adult women in the bleeding disorders community will have the opportunity to come together for online social experiences that include an educational speaker or activity while connecting with other women in the community. The group is open to women affected by a bleeding disorder or involved in the bleeding disorder community.
Register to join Genny Moore & Mayra Cantu on Tuesday, December 9th at 7pm CT for BDAI’s 2nd virtual session. The Ruby Connection Program provides a space for women affected by bleeding disorders or involved in the bleeding disorders community to connect, learn, and socialize.
Through HFM's generous support, a grant has been provided to reimburse meals (up to $30) for attendees who RSVP at least two weeks in advance, actively participate, and have their cameras on during the session.
Pathfinders with GutMonkey
The great outdoors is for everyone with this accessible invitation to a local nature spot. For individuals, friends, and families, Pathfinders events are specially crafted to bring together folks affected by all bleeding disorders. We invite families and folks from all walks of life to discover the beauty of the outdoors while forging lasting connections with others who understand the journey.
Program is facilitated by GutMonkey whose mission is to provide foundational, life-changing experiences for folks with chronic health conditions that improve health outcomes, build communities, dismantle stigma, and increase awareness.

Gutmonkey - Leading Edge and Parent Education Day
Join BDAI and Gutmonkey as they present their Leading Edge programming, sponsored by Pfizer. BDAI is so excited to be bringing the Gutmonkey crew to Illinois. This is a phenomenal opportunity to learn and grow confident in your bleeding disorder.
Following Gutmonkey’s key note presentation, BDAI youth will continue this programming with Gutmonkey.
Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to grow their education in bleeding disorders and sports, insurance, and school partnerships.

Target Audience: Patients and Caregivers This overview addresses topics such as coping with chronic illness, communicating with your healthcare team and others, financial considerations of healthcare throughout life, and the importance of staying physically active with appropriate activities. This discussion includes modules on communicating with your healthcare team, staying physically active, managing your care, treatment support, and an insurance review.
We can offer a $25.00 dinner gift card that will be mailed after the event to those who participate and leave their screens on for the entire program. It will be for the first ten families to register.

BDAI and Novo Nordisk: Alhemo - A presentation for patients
Join Novo Nordisk’s, Michael Norwood, for dinner and an educational presentation on their newest product, Alhemo® (concizumab-mtci). Alhemo is the first and only prefilled, subcutaneous pen for people who have hemophilia A or B with Inhibitors. Alhemo is used for routine prophylaxis to prevent or reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes in adults and children 12 years of age and older.
